Manulife in Waterloo, Ontario is seeking a Senior Analyst, Operations Risk & Controls to advise on operational risk, controls, and transformation governance across Canada Operations. This hybrid role is based in Waterloo, Ontario.

You will lead risk assessments, review risk registers, and support governance forums while partnering with business, project, and technology teams to embed risk requirements and readiness for major initiatives.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience in operational risk, audit, controls, consulting, project risk, or transformation governance.
• Experience conducting risk and controls assessments for large change initiatives.
• Knowledge of operational risk management frameworks, control frameworks, and governance practices.
• Experience with business transformations, technology implementations, or process redesign is preferred.
• Archer GRC experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Lead operational risk assessments for major transformation initiatives, technology implementations, and process redesigns.
• Assess inherent and residual risks throughout project lifecycles and challenge project stakeholders.
• Identify operational, regulatory, customer, financial, and reputational risks associated with proposed changes.
• Review future-state processes, project risk registers, business requirements, process designs, testing strategies, and implementation plans.
• Assess control impacts and the adequacy of proposed controls; recommend enhancements where gaps exist.
• Participate in governance forums and provide risk opinions on implementation readiness.
• Partner with business, project, and technology teams to embed risk management requirements and meet Change Delivery Risk Management Standard expectations.
