Job summary

Manulife in Waterloo, Ontario seeks an experienced Payroll Analyst to support complex Canadian payroll for about 13,000 employees across provinces and six legal entities. You will ensure accurate, compliant payroll while strengthening controls, reducing risk, and improving the employee experience.

You will lead testing, automation, and process improvements, partnering with Benefits, Tax, Finance, Technology, and vendors to solve complex payroll challenges.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive Canadian payroll experience.
• Strong analytical thinking and root-cause analysis.
• Experience with audits, reconciliations, and year-end activities.
• Experience with ADP GlobalView or SAP.
• Advanced Excel and data analysis skills.

Responsibilities

• Independently process, audit, and validate complex Canadian payroll across provinces and entities.
• Investigate discrepancies, identify root causes, and implement sustainable solutions.
• Lead payroll activities including executive compensation, equity, bonuses, and taxable benefits.
• Coordinate quarterly and year-end payroll reconciliations, audits, and reporting.
• Analyze payroll impacts related to benefits and leaves.
