Position Overview

Reporting to the IT Controls Manager, you will work with IT process owners testing IT General Controls (ITGCs) and IT Application Controls (ITACs). You will be part of the team responsible for planning, executing, and reporting audit procedures related to financial controls over financial reporting, primarily to meet the Sarbanes-Oxley Act requirements. You will serve as an IT controls advisor, collaborating closely with process owners to maintain an effective IT control environment. This role offers a unique opportunity to understand controls across Nutrien’s diversified, international operations.

What You Will Do

1. Identify and assess risks associated with Nutrien’s IT environment.
2. Evaluate the security, reliability, integrity, and governance of the IT environment and application systems across all platforms used by Nutrien’s in-scope business units.
3. Conduct IT SOX work to assess control design over new and changing internal processes and controls, including identifying key IT controls, designing test plans, and testing results.
4. Assess testing results with IT process owners.
5. Develop remediation plans or alternative solutions for issues identified, working closely with process owners.
6. Collaborate with external auditors to discuss findings and solutions.
7. Engage with IT, Finance, and senior management regarding findings and recommendations from SOX and external audits.
8. Document testing results and recommend improvements for control deficiencies.
9. Follow up to ensure deficiencies are effectively addressed.

What You Will Bring

1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with at least six years of relevant experience, including five years in IT SOX or IT Governance and Controls within a large public company.
2. Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) certification.
3. Strong understanding of IT risk and control frameworks, and SOX requirements for large organizations.
4. Experience with large ERP systems, preferably SAP, Oracle, and PeopleSoft.
5. Experience supporting IT applications and working within standard operating procedures, such as Change Management.
6. Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
7. Strong commitment to deadlines and attention to detail.
