Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly financial performance reports with variance analysis.
  • Support month-end close calendar and coordination with operations.
  • Maintain and improve reporting templates in Excel and Workday Adaptive Insights.
  • Develop financial models for management reporting, M&A analysis, capex evaluations, and VCP.
  • Document model logic and ensure data integrity; support scenarios and sensitivity analyses.
  • Prepare cash flow forecasts and monitor variances against forecast.

Job description

Sanexen is seeking a Senior Analyst, FP&A for its Brossard office.

Job Description

Reporting to the Senior Director, FP&A and Treasury, the Financial Analyst plays a key role in the monthly reporting cycle, financial modelling and cash forecasting activities of Sanexen. The Analyst produces reliable, timely and insightful financial information that supports decision making by the leadership team, and contributes to the ongoing modernization of the reporting and planning function.

Main responsibilities
Reporting
  • Prepare the monthly financial performance reports, including variance analysis against budget, forecast and prior year.
  • Support the month end close calendar and coordinate inputs from operations and accounting to meet reporting deadlines.
  • Maintain and improve reporting templates in Excel, Office Connect and Workday Adaptive Insights.
  • Generate, maintain and improve financial models supporting management reporting, M&A (Mergers and Acquisitions) analysis, capex (capital expenditure) evaluations, and the Value Creation Plan (VCP).
  • Document model logic, assumptions and data sources, and ensure model integrity through structured validation.
  • Support scenario and sensitivity analysis for business cases and investment decisions.
Forecasting
  • Prepare the cash flow and cash position forecasts and the related reporting to management.
  • Monitor actual cash performance against forecast and explain key variances.
  • Contribute to the annual budget and periodic reforecast cycles.
  • Act as backup to the Senior Treasury Analyst for cash management purposes, ensuring continuity of daily cash management activities during absences.
Presentations
  • Prepare presentations of financial results, forecasts and analyses for the management team and the BoD (Board of Directors).
  • Participate in the presentation and discussion of these materials with the management team.
Other
  • Perform ad hoc financial analysis in support of the Senior Director, FP&A and Treasury and the broader Finance team.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to automate and streamline recurring reporting and forecasting processes.
  • Ensure confidentiality and accuracy of all financial information handled.
Qualifications required
Desired Profile
  • Undergraduate degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting or a similar field.
  • 3-6 years of relevant experience in financial analysis, FP&A, financial modelling or a similar function.
  • Bilingual in French and English.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including financial model design and financial analysis.
  • Strong financial modelling skills and the ability to translate complex financial information into clear, actionable insights.
  • Strong analytical rigor, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills and sound professional judgment when handling confidential information.
  • Proactive, autonomous and comfortable taking initiative to identify and implement improvements.
  • Open-minded, flexible and eager to learn.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally (approximately 10%).
Assets
  • CPA designation or progress toward a CPA.
  • Experience in a corporate or project-based environment, particularly with private equity stakeholders.
  • Experience with Workday Adaptive Insights, Office Connect or a similar EPM tool, as well as D365 (Microsoft Dynamics 365).
  • Strong PowerPoint skills, particularly for preparing management presentations and business cases.
  • Knowledge of AI tools applied to financial analysis and reporting.
