Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Monitor project budgets, variances and EAC (actual costs vs forecasts).
• Develop budgets, forecasts and planning scenarios.
• Participate in monthly project reviews and close-out activities.
• Prepare monthly G&A, headcount, internal project costs and CAPEX reports.
• Contribute to periodic financial reports and dashboards for management.
• Analyze project profitability and identify financial risks.
• Perform variance analyses and recommend corrective actions.
• Collaborate with project management to align deliverables with resources.

Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to play a key role in the planning, monitoring, and financial analysis of our projects. Working closely with our operational and finance teams, you will contribute to the sound financial management of our activities and support informed decision-making.

The ideal candidate has solid experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A), ideally gained in a dynamic, project-driven environment. The ideal candidate is autonomous, detail-oriented, and collaborative, and enjoys understanding business challenges and using their expertise to support teams and contribute to the success of our projects.

Main responsibilities

• Monitor project budgets (actual costs vs. forecasts, variances, and Estimate at Completion (EAC))
• Develop budgets, financial forecasts, and planning scenarios
• Participate in monthly project reviews and contribute to project close-out activities
• Prepare monthly reports for general and administrative (G&A) expenses, headcount, internal project costs, and capital expenditures (CAPEX)
• Contribute to the preparation of periodic financial reports and dashboards for management
• Analyze project profitability and identify financial risks
• Perform variance analyses (budget vs. actuals) and provide recommendations for corrective actions
• Collaborate with project management teams to ensure alignment between deliverables, timelines, and financial resources
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial planning processes and project tracking tools

Qualifications required

• Experience in a project-based company (contract management, project-based revenue recognition, project profitability tracking, etc.) — essential
• Experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A): budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis — essential
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting
• 8 to 10 years of experience in financial analysis
• Experience with an ERP system (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365), SAP, Oracle, or other)
• Excellent analytical skills and strong attention to detail
• Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly
• Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills
• Bilingual in French and English

Assets

• Professional designation (CPA, CFA) or in the process of obtaining one
• Project management experience in the construction, engineering, technology, or professional services sectors
• Experience with D365 and Adaptive Planning (Workday Adaptive Insights)
