Job summary

SANEXEN in Quebec seeks a Junior Project Manager – Water Treatment to join our Quebec office. The role targets candidates finishing their university degree in December 2026 or Spring 2027 in water treatment, civil or mechanical engineering, with the possibility to start part-time during the final year and continue growth within our team.

You will be mentored by experienced professionals and will participate in a variety of water treatment projects, developing skills in project management,

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a university degree in water treatment, civil engineering, or mechanical engineering with expected graduation December 2026 or Spring 2027.
  • Willingness to start part-time during final year and continue professional development.
  • Bilingual English/French required to work with local, pan-Canadian, and international clients.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Project Director and Project Manager in project planning and execution.
  • Participate in the design of treatment solutions tailored to project needs.
  • Prepare technical reports, studies, and technical opinions.
  • Support preparation of RFQs, purchase orders, invoice tracking, and cost monitoring.
  • Contribute to project deliverables and implementation of HSE and quality management processes.
  • Travel occasionally for site visits, construction activities, and commissioning.

Job description

Sanexen is seeking a Junior Project Manager – Water Treatment for its Quebec office.

Job Description

This position is intended for a candidate who will be completing their university degree in December 2026 or Spring 2027 in water treatment, civil engineering, or mechanical engineering. Ideally, we are looking for someone who is available to begin working part-time during their final year of studies and continue their professional development within our team.

As part of this role, the selected candidate will be mentored by experienced professionals and will participate in a variety of water treatment projects while developing their skills in project management, technical design, and operational follow-up.

Overview of Projects

The successful candidate will participate in various types of assignments, including:

  • Technical studies;
  • Preliminary and detailed engineering;
  • Construction project management;
  • Treatment system operations management, when required.

These projects primarily involve:

  • Treatment of surface water and stormwater contaminated by industrial activities;
  • Treatment of water from contaminated soil landfill sites;
  • Temporary water treatment solutions implemented as part of site remediation projects (mines, industrial sites) carried out by Sanexen;
  • Temporary water treatment solutions implemented for general contractor projects to ensure compliance of water discharges with municipal requirements.
Main responsibilities

Reporting to the Water Treatment team, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to:

  • Assist the Project Director and Project Manager in project planning and execution;
  • Participate in the design of treatment solutions tailored to the specific needs of each project;
  • Collaborate in the preparation of technical reports, studies, and technical opinions;
  • Support the preparation of requests for quotations from equipment and accessory suppliers, purchase order processing, invoice tracking, and project cost monitoring;
  • Contribute to the preparation of project deliverables;
  • Participate in the implementation of risk management, health, safety and environment (HSE), and quality management processes;
  • Travel occasionally for initial site visits, construction activities, and commissioning of treatment units.

Qualifications required

Sought Profile

  • Currently pursuing a university degree in water treatment, civil engineering, or mechanical engineering (expected graduation in December 2026 or Spring 2027);
  • Hold an ASP Construction card;
  • Possess a valid driver’s license;
  • Demonstrate strong communication, technical writing, and problem‑solving skills;
  • Have an interest in project management and teamwork;
  • Understand the principles related to health, safety, environment, and quality;
  • Be comfortable using Microsoft Office Suite.

Proficiency in French and English:
