Job summary

Manulife seeks a Business Analyst with strong analytics to connect finance, data, technology, and AI in ALM domains. The role spans asset-liability management, hedging, valuation, and data analysis, delivering practical, scalable AI-enhanced solutions across business and IT partners.

You will translate complex requirements into AI-enabled solutions, design data workflows, and validate outputs with stakeholders, shaping risk and performance analytics while emphasizing responsible AI practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Finance, CS, Math, Statistics, Engineering, Actuarial Science, Data Science, or a related field.
• Demonstrated ownership and accountability with quality deliverables.
• Practical financial services experience in asset-liability management, hedging, valuation, or risk management.
• Hands-on experience with AI APIs or platforms and prototyping AI-enabled solutions.
• Experience in business analysis, requirements engineering, and solution design.
• Ability to translate financial, operational, and data requirements into structured specs.
• Proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language such as Python, C++, Java.
• Knowledge of ETL processes and data-flow concepts.
• Ability to visualize and present ML model results.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and stakeholder collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess asset and liability data feeds and interpret content for downstream use.
• Create mappings from position data to valuation models based on security attributes.
• Decompose complex requirements into AI-enabled components for implementation.
• Document workflows, data flows, calculations, interfaces, and integration requirements.
• Analyze structured and unstructured data to clarify business needs and support design.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to clarify scope, priorities, and outcomes for analytics initiatives.
• Define metrics for reports, dashboards, and ad hoc analysis with data-flow diagrams.
• Prototype and implement AI agents that retrieve and analyze business data via natural-language interactions.
