The Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) works at the centre of the province’s power system, ensuring Ontarians have access to reliable and cost-effective electricity when and where they need it.

The opportunity

The Senior Advisor, Municipal and Community Engagement will play a key role in shaping meaningful relationships with municipal stakeholders within Ontario’s electricity market as the IESO navigates the energy transition. The Senior Advisor will lead and coordinate all municipal and stakeholder engagement processes across the organization.

What you will be doing

1. Provide support in the design of customized municipal and stakeholder engagement strategies.
2. Implement and manage effective municipal and stakeholder engagement processes.
3. Coordinate and support the management and implementation of engagement strategies.
4. Implement the stakeholder engagement process for all municipalities and stakeholder engagement mechanisms.
5. Ensure timely, accessible, accurate, and coordinated communication in support of engagement processes.
6. Encourage all municipal and stakeholder sectors to participate in the process.
7. Establish and implement mechanisms for evaluating and reporting on engagement activities.
8. Analyze feedback from engagement sessions to identify trends.
9. Implement processes to meet due diligence requirements.
10. Provide or arrange for expert facilitation skills at engagement meetings.

What you need to succeed

1. Successful completion of a 4-year University education in the appropriate field, or the equivalent.
2. Good knowledge of business administration or commerce.
3. Strong communication skills.
4. Understanding of company objectives and legislative requirements.
5. Experience in the analysis of policies and decisions.
6. Experience in project administration.
7. Experience to acquire a thorough understanding of community and stakeholder involvement.
8. A period of over 8 years, up to and including 10 years experience.
