Job summary

Sienna Senior Living in Toronto is seeking a part-time Activation Aide for days to join our long-term care community. You will design and run recreation activities tailored to each resident, building meaningful relationships and promoting happiness and dignity.

Reporting to the Director of Resident Programs, you will support social engagement, assess resident interests, and maintain records. A post-secondary diploma in recreation or related field and experience with seniors are preferred;

Qualifications

• Post-secondary diploma or degree in recreation and leisure studies, therapeutic recreation, kinesiology, gerontology or related field
• Experience working with seniors
• Understanding of leisure principles
• Legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work permit
• Ability to pass Vulnerable Sector Check/Criminal Record Check

Responsibilities

• Develop and refine recreation programs for residents
• Deliver daily activities with physical, cognitive and emotional engagement
• Assess residents' interests and progress
• Maintain records of programs and participation
• Foster social interaction and community involvement
