Job summary

The Mason Group Inc. is seeking a Senior Accounts Payable Specialist for a Delta, BC-based hybrid role. You will own the full AP cycle, drive process improvements, and leverage automation to increase accuracy and efficiency.

Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will maintain project codes, billing parameters, and tax settings while collaborating across the business to strengthen internal controls and ensure timely payments.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7+ years of dedicated Accounts Payable experience.
• Experience in a project-based engineering, construction, or systems integration environment is an asset.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and strong Excel skills.

This is a hybrid position with three days per week in the Delta office, offering flexibility while still providing opportunities to build strong relationships and collaborate with colleagues across the business.

Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, the Senior Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for managing the full cycle of accounts payable while also playing an important role in improving AP processes, policies, and systems.

This is more than a traditional AP role. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to take ownership of processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and leverage automation to make the AP function more efficient and effective.

Additional responsibilities include:

• Managing and maintaining data such as project codes, billing parameters, contract terms and tax settings
• Evaluating and improving workflows to drive automation and efficiency
• Managing payroll batch exports
• Supporting the development and implementation of AP policies and procedures
• Maintaining strong internal controls and segregation of duties

• Minimum 7+ years of dedicated Accounts Payable experience
• Experience in a project-based engineering, construction, or systems integration environment is considered an asset
• Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
• Proficiency with ERP systems is required (Experience with Deltek Vision, Vantagepoint, or a similar job-cost accounting ERP is preferred)
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Word and Outlook, with advanced Excel skills
• Exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to internal controls
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Strong sense of ownership and accountability
• Humble, team-first attitude with a willingness to collaborate and support others
