Job description

We are looking for a Senior Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team and be a key member of our Accounts Payable department. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of managing multiple tasks in a busy work environment, proficiency working with ERP software (Microsoft Dynamics), and a willingness to learn. ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Review invoices for proper authorization
• Key in a consistent volume of accounts payable invoices each month (typically 1000 bills/month), matching all source documents, and ensuring appropriate GL distribution
• Process expense reimbursements and credit card statements
• Manage and maintain existing and new vendor setups
• Input payment transactions and run cheques
• Correspond with branches
• Lead, supervise, and train junior team members to support growth and development
• Communicate with vendors regarding invoices, receivables, and payments
• Perform AP Manager responsibilities during absences
• Complete other accounting duties and projects as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in accounts payable or a similar role
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
• Experience in a fast-paced, high-volume collections environment
• Ability to problem-solve, multitask, work effectively under pressure, and meet deadlines
• Proficient with Excel, Word, and MS Outlook
• Strong ERP skills and the ability to learn new systems
• Eager to learn and apply newly acquired skills immediately
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and multi-tasking skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum 1 year of experience in a senior accounts payable or accounting role
• Experience managing and supervising small accounting teams
• Dynamics D365 experience
• Basic accounting knowledge

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Effective communication skills (seeing, hearing, speaking, writing)
• Manual dexterity for reaching, lifting light objects, and operating office equipment

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Clean, orderly, well-lit, and ventilated office environment
• Low to moderate noise levels

Pay: $55,000 - $65,000 DOE
