Job summary

IMT Precision in Canada is seeking a Senior Accounts Payable Administrator to oversee the day-to-day AP function in a manufacturing setting. You will manage high-volume invoicing, payment runs, and vendor records to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal controls.

Reporting to the Accounting Manager, you will mentor junior staff, drive process improvements, and strengthen supplier relationships while supporting cash flow and safeguarding company assets.

Qualifications

  • 3-5+ years of progressive accounts payable experience, preferably in manufacturing.
  • Experience with full AP cycle in high-volume invoice processing and weekly payment runs.
  • Experience communicating with suppliers and resolving account discrepancies.
  • Experience with payment advisories and remittance documentation.
  • Strong Excel skills and data analysis for AP information.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day accounts payable processing with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Ensure vendor invoices, payments, and supplier records comply with policies.
  • Support and mentor AP team members and drive process improvements.
  • Maintain strong supplier relationships and assist with cash flow management.

Salary: $50,200 - $68,300

Position Summary

Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Senior Accounts Payable Administrator is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounts payable function for a mid-sized manufacturing company. This role ensures vendor invoices, payment runs, supplier records, and related documentation are processed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with company policies, approval requirements, internal controls, and supplier terms.

The Senior Accounts Payable Administrator serves as a key point of contact for suppliers and internal stakeholders, provides support and guidance to the Accounts Payable Administrator, and contributes to process improvements, performance monitoring, and continuous enhancement of the accounts payable function.

This position plays an important role in maintaining strong supplier relationships, supporting cash flow management, ensuring financial accuracy, and safeguarding company assets through effective controls and compliance practices.

  • Identify process improvement opportunities and strengthen internal controls.

Education & Experience
  • Education:
    • Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field preferred
  • Experience:
    • 3-5+ years of progressive accounts payable experience, preferably in a mid-sized or large manufacturing environment.
    • Experience with full accounts payable cycle in a high-volume invoice processing and weekly payment runs environment
    • Experience communicating directly with suppliers and resolving account discrepancies.
    • Experience preparing payment advice and remittance documentation.
    • Experience with ERP or accounting systems is required; experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX (DAX) or a similar ERP system is considered an asset.
    • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to work with spreadsheets, sort and filter data, and analyze accounts payable information.
Knowledge
  • Knowledge of accounts payable processes, internal controls, and best practices.
  • Understanding of purchase order, receiving, and invoice matching processes.
  • Understanding of vendor management, supplier reconciliations, and payment processing.
  • Knowledge of month-end activities, accruals, and account reconciliations.
  • Familiarity with fraud prevention practices and financial compliance requirements.
  • Understanding of manufacturing environments and supplier-based operations.
Skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial data processing
  • Advanced analytical and reconciliation skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups)
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
