Position Summary

The Facilities Engineer – Manufacturing & Industrial Engineering is responsible for supporting the development and implementation of a new greenfield manufacturing facility. Reporting to the Project Manager, this role serves as a key technical link between facility development, manufacturing process design, industrial engineering, and manufacturing readiness.

The Facilities Engineer translates product, program, production capacity, and operational requirements into practical manufacturing concepts and facility solutions. The role ensures that the new facility is designed to support safe, efficient, scalable, and cost-effective production.

Working closely with Engineering, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Maintenance, EHS, Finance, and external engineering and construction partners, the Facilities Engineer supports the planning, design, construction, commissioning, and production-readiness phases of the project.

The role requires a strong understanding of manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, facility planning, process development, capacity modelling, manufacturing line design, and capital project execution. The position also works within a controlled-goods manufacturing environment and must ensure applicable regulatory, security, safety, quality, and environmental requirements are incorporated into facility and manufacturing solutions.

At our company, we are looking for exceptional individuals who can meet the following criteria:

  • Translate business, customer, program, and production requirements into practical engineering and facility solutions.
  • Evaluate manufacturing alternatives based on cost, production rate, risk, footprint, scalability, and implementation timing.
  • Identify manufacturing, equipment, facility, labour, infrastructure, and capacity gaps that may require capital investment.
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing concepts, block layouts, process flows, and facility concepts.
  • Identify bottlenecks, capacity constraints, and opportunities for debottlenecking.
  • Balance safety, quality, cost, capacity, schedule, maintainability, and operational requirements.
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced project environment with changing priorities.
  • Manage multiple technical priorities and projects simultaneously.
  • Communicate complex technical information clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Work independently, take ownership of issues, and drive solutions through to implementation.
  • Collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization and with external engineering, construction, and equipment partners.
  • Support production readiness and transition from facility construction and equipment installation into operational ownership.
  • Travel as required to support project and facility development activities.
