Job summary

Canada Life is seeking an Accounting System Process Specialist to support complex accounting functions across Public Service Plans from Winnipeg, MB. The incumbent will manage back-end workflows, perform financial transactions, and provide day-to-day operational support to Accounting System Coordinators.

They will handle suspense account reconciliations, ensure financial controls, and support internal audits.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in administrative/ accounting related fields or related work experience.
• CPA enrollment is an asset.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication, organization, and time-management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and work collaboratively.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Microsoft Access.
• Understanding Health & Dental Claims processes would be an asset.
• Reliability Status Security Clearance is required and cost covered by employer.

Responsibilities

• Manage back-end accounting transactions and related investigations for Public Service Plans.
• Oversee investigations in SAP, FSCD and Mainframe systems.
• Analyze suspense accounts and reconcile for completeness and audit requirements.
• Clear claims transactions by analyzing BEN, PAS, EAS and E&C systems.
• Direct GIPA and GPS to correct systems and procedures so claims clear E&C Suspense.
• Monitor claim reporting and coordinate corrective actions with GWL and Third Party Payors.
• Provide operational support and guidance to ensure policies and procedures are followed.
• Prepare and run ad hoc reports from databases.
