Accounting & Finance Recruitment Associate

Our client, a leading global Capital Markets and Trading powerhouse, is seeking a Senior Accountant – Loan Loss Provisioning (IFRS 9) to join their team on a 12-month contract, with a strong potential for extension or full-time conversion.

About the Role:

As a Senior Accountant – Loan Loss Provisioning (IFRS 9), you will play a critical role in managing the day-to-day and period-end accounting for loan loss provisioning. You will be responsible for reviewing accounting entries, performing reconciliations, proposing journal entries, and supporting audits.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the accounting and reconciliation of loan loss provisions under IFRS 9.
• Prepare and review journal entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Conduct reconciliations and provide audit support.
• Work collaboratively with internal teams to analyze financial data and ensure alignment with regulatory standards.

Qualifications:

• CPA/CA designation with hands-on experience in Loan Loss Provisioning (IFRS 9).
• Nice to have IFRS 17 experience
• Strong analytical skills and experience with financial systems.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic capital markets environment.
• Proficiency in financial reporting and reconciliations.
• Hybrid role – 2-3 days in-office per week (Downtown Toronto).
