Job summary

MNP in Sudbury, Ontario is seeking a Senior Accountant in Assurance & Accounting. You will work with a diverse team to deliver tailored financial information, audits, and advisory services to mid-market clients.

Bring 2–4 years of public accounting experience, solid GAAP/IFRS/SEC knowledge, and proficiency with accounting and tax software. English fluency is required; French is a plus. This full-time role is based in Northeastern Ontario with some travel.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of public accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, IFRS and SEC.
• Experience using accounting and tax software.
• Written and spoken English; French is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Conduct compilation, review, audit, bookkeeping and tax engagements.
• Set up files for new clients; manage multiple files; inventory counts.
• Handle accounts receivable/payable, asset transactions and payroll walkthroughs.
• Summarize client financials with balance sheet and P&L reports.
• Assess audit evidence for expenses, revenues and assets.
• Review and correct discrepancies in entries and reports.
• Establish chart of accounts and posting entries.
• Prepare client summaries, reports and presentations.
• Develop client relationships while coaching juniors.
• Support business development opportunities.
• Travel flexibility as needed.
