MNP is proudly Canadian and a leading national accounting, tax and business advisory firm. We seek a Senior Accountant in Tax to design solutions for clients within a complex regulatory framework and to guide associates on engagements across Canada.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in commerce or business administration (accounting or finance major preferred)
• CPA designation or pursuing CPA; CFE considered
• 2–4 years of relevant public accounting or tax experience
• Working knowledge of the Canadian Income Tax Act
• Agriculture business experience is an asset
• Experience with accounting and tax software

Responsabilités

• Complete tax reorganizations such as capital dividend elections, section 85 rollovers, purifications, and corporation reorganization engagements including preparing corresponding tax elections
• Set up files for new clients and newly incorporated businesses
• Evaluate existing business processes and policies and advise on policy and tax changes; develop proactive tax strategies
• Identify issues and discrepancies and discuss resolutions with managers or partners
• Correspond with clients and government agencies on tax compliance issues
• Prepare correspondence, technical reports, client summaries and presentations
• Lead engagement teams and mentor junior team members
• Contribute to development of new ideas to improve processes
• Participate in business development initiatives and identify new opportunities
• Maintain flexibility to travel as necessary
