Position Summary: The Senior Accountant is responsible for all General Ledger related accounting activities and works closely with Accounts Payable Coordinators and Payroll on month/year-end closing procedures. This role will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health and integrity of our organization through meticulous accounting practices and adherence to established guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and assist in preparing comprehensive financial reporting packages for all companies on a monthly basis, encompassing Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and inventory data.
• Conduct bank and balance sheet reconciliations diligently, while ensuring the accuracy and maintenance of sub-ledgers.
• Execute inter-company reconciliations to ensure seamless financial transactions between affiliated entities.
• Maintain the General Ledger, including recording all major entries necessary for accurate financial reporting. This includes handling payroll and benefits related Journal Entries and working papers.
• Manage the capital asset continuity schedule, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records of company assets.
• Ensure accurate and timely completion of Month End processes.
• Handle reporting with banks and facilitate the processing of wire transfers and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare meticulous working papers to facilitate year-end audits.
• Provide support to the Accounting Manager by producing relevant account and financial analyses.
• Prepare, maintain, and ensure compliance with all Government Reporting requirements, including WSIB, EHT, Tax, CBSA, etc.
• Provide support to the Accounting Manager related to the calculation of commissions.
• Take an active role in supporting and/or leading continuous improvement initiatives within the accounting department.
• Adhere strictly to the Occupational Health & Safety Act & Regulations, as well as the health, safety, environmental policies, and Quality policies established by Multy Home.
• Perform any other reasonable assignments given by the Department Management or designated personnel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or Business. CPA designation (attained or in progress) is mandatory.
• 5 to 7 years of relevant work experience as a GL/Intermediate Accountant, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated experience in delivering accurate and comprehensive management reports.
• Possess strong quantitative and analytical abilities to handle financial data effectively.
• Ability to multitask and manage a large volume of data with a keen focus on maintaining data integrity.
• Proficient in performing variance analysis and displaying root cause problem-solving skills.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
• Exhibit a proactive approach to managing changes and implementing improvements in accounting processes.
• A strong business partner and team player with a positive and "can-do" attitude, contributing positively to the overall team dynamics.
