Job summary

Fairstone Bank is seeking a Senior Account Manager, Retail Financing to join our team. You will prospect, solicit and develop new partnerships with medium to large retailers, promoting and selling Fairstone products and services, reporting to the Director, Existing Canadian Partnerships.

This role requires bilingual proficiency in English and French, plus willingness to travel ~60% across Maritime provinces, Eastern Quebec and the Greater Toronto Area. A hybrid work model is offered.

Qualifications

• University degree in Business Administration or equivalent.
• 5–7 years in retail finance with a sales background.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to perform financial calculations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Willingness to travel ~60% with a valid driver''s license.
• Flexible to work holidays, weekends and evenings.

• Negotiate and oversee the rollout of profitable credit programs to new business partners in collaboration with Legal, Finance and Risk.
• Establish and execute strategies designed to secure relationships with new retailers.
• Serve as the contact person for both company and the retailer on significant issues.
• Assist in the resolution of issues arising between merchant, merchants'' customers and Fairstone.
• Manage and grow a portfolio of retail financing partners across the Maritime provinces, while providing coverage for Eastern Quebec and the Greater Toronto Area.

Be part of our talented and growing team! We are currently looking for Senior Account Manager, Retail Financing to join the team, reporting to the Director, Existing Canadian Partnerships. You will be responsible for prospecting, soliciting, and developing new business partnerships with a clientele composed of medium to large sized organizations to promote and sell products and services. You will also ensure consistency and balance between sales objectives and portfolio profitability.

WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?

Please note that this position requires bilingual proficiency in both English and French. Bilingualism is essential to effectively collaborate with our clients and stakeholders across Eastern Quebec, Maritime provinces and Toronto.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR

• University Degree - preferably in Business Administration or equitable work experience.
• 5-7 years’ experience in retail finance industry with a sales background.
• Knowledge of competitive practices within the industry.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills are required to: Analyze market to identify business opportunities and understand the competition; Analyze market and internal operations to determine proper business mix and resource allocation as they relate to profitability; Research and respond to customer inquiries promptly and accurately, constant negotiation with both retailers and other departments within our company;
• Ability to perform financial calculations;
• Demonstrated strong communication skills (oral and written) with all levels of employees, management and customers and possess confident and effective public speaking skills.
• Proficient in MS Office products to include Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Willingness to travel extensively (approximately 60% of the time) and possession of a valid driver's license.
• Flexible to work public holidays, weekends and evenings
