Job summary

Horizon Care and Education is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with SEMH and autism at Grove Road School in Sutton. You will assist in classrooms, support learning activities and adapt environments to individual needs, helping students engage and progress.

The role involves 1:1 and small-group support, collaborating with teachers and specialists to implement personalised plans in a nurturing setting.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with children with behavioural support needs and strategies.
• GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above or equivalent.
• Willingness to work towards a recognised teaching assistant qualification.

Responsibilities

• Assist students in educational and social development.
• Provide support inside and outside the classroom to enable full engagement.
• Help set up activities and adapt environments to individual needs using technology as appropriate.
• Support teachers and engage with students, maintaining a positive, non-disruptive classroom.
• Work 1:1 with some students to provide targeted learning time.
