Job summary

Paladin Security is seeking a Security Supervisor for North York General Hospital in Toronto. This on-site role leads daily operations, coaching and training security staff, ensuring adherence to site policies, and coordinating shift schedules to maintain high standards of safety and service.

The position requires valid First Aid/CPR Level C, vaccination records, a valid G-class license, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Valid First Aid & CPR Level C from a WSIB approved provider.
• Proof of double Covid Vaccination.
• Immunization record (measles, mumps, rubella, varicella & TB tests 1 & 2).
• Valid G class Driver's License.
• Willing to complete N95 mask fit testing during training.
• At least 1 year healthcare security supervisor experience preferred.
• Post secondary education in security/law enforcement is an asset.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Legally authorized to work in Canada.
• Certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and MOAB or opt into Paladin's program.
• UOF/MOAB certification pre-employment cost covered with 6-month commitment.

Job Description

• Provides leadership, direction, and ongoing coaching and training.
• Ensures all standing orders and scheduled daily activities are carried out as required for each shift
• Ensures site staff adhere to all Paladin Security and site-specific security policies and procedures
• Plans and implements shift work schedules
• Ensures all Security Guards have received the mandatory training.
• Motivates staff and issues commendations
• Disciplines staff when necessary and ensures proper documentation is passed onto head office
• Performs security audits
• Documents and investigates security incidents and complaints
• Provide proactive and reactive security patrols
• Communicates any concerns/issues with Client Service Manager

Prerequisites

• Valid First Aid & CPR Level C from a WSIB approved provider
• Proof of double Covid Vaccination
• Immunization Record (measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, and TB skin tests 1 and 2)
• Valid G class Driver's License
• Must be willing to complete N95 Mask fit testing during the training
• At least one year of healthcare security supervisor/team lead experience would be preferred
• Post Secondary education in a law enforcement/security program from a recognized college would be an asset
• Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
• Legally authorized to work in Canada
• Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
• Applicants who do not possess these certifications can opt into Paladin's Use of Force (UOF)/Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) certification program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position

Please be aware: The UOF/MOAB certification is not paid as it is a pre-employment requisite; however, Paladin will cover all the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
