Job summary

Moose Cree First Nation Security Team is seeking personnel to participate in community patrols in Moose Factory, Ontario. Under general supervision, you will deter crime, protect community assets, respond to incidents, and maintain a visible security presence for residents.

Applicants should have a valid Security Licence or be willing to train, plus a high school diploma and First Aid/CPR. Preference given to First Nation members; accommodation can be discussed during recruitment.

Qualifications

• Security Guard Licence, or related training or willing to be trained.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Security or Peacekeeper experience or related field preferred.
• Follow precautionary safety guidelines and health and safety standards.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to work under minimum supervision and within a team.
• Good interpersonal skills and written/communication skills.
• Must maintain strict confidentiality.
• Good physical condition and endurance.
• First Aid/CPR.
• Understanding of the cultural environment; Cree language is an asset.
• CPIC with vulnerable person sector required.

Job description

Under the general supervision of the Drug Task Force, the Moose Cree First Nation Security Team shall assist with regular community patrols to deter crime and protect property and community assets. The MCFN Security personnel shall maintain a visible presence, respond to incidents as directed, report suspicious or criminal activity, and help ensure a safe and secure environment for community members.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Security Guard Licence, or related training or willing to be trained.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Security or Peacekeeper experience or related field preferred.
• Willingness to follow the precautionary safety guidelines always.
• Must follow and adhere to the health and safety standards of the organization.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to work under minimum supervision and within a team framework.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Must maintain strict confidentiality.
• Strong written and communication skills.
• Good physical condition and endurance.
• First Aid/CPR.
• Shall have a thorough understanding of the cultural environment in which they serve.
• The ability to speak Cree is an asset.
• Must provide a CPIC with vulnerable person sector at applicant’s own expense.
