Job summary

Moose Cree First Nation in Ontario seeks a Finance and Administration Officer to support the Lands and Resources Department. Under the general supervision of the Director, the Officer will assist with agreement management, procurement, expenditure tracking, financial reporting, and related financial processes.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field with one year of related experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of financial tracking and basic accounting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, document management, and data tracking.
  • Must provide satisfactory CPIC or proof of clearance.
  • Ontario driver’s license or ability to obtain one.
  • Ability to communicate in Cree language is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Track expenditures and prepare financial reporting.
  • Support day-to-day administrative operations of Lands and Resources.

Job description

Under the general supervision of the Director of Lands and Resources, the Finance and Administration Officer supports the effective financial and administrative operations of the Lands and Resources Department. The Officer will assist the Director and Department Program Leads with agreement management, procurement, expenditure tracking, financial reporting, and other financial processes in accordance with organizational policies and funding requirements. Working collaboratively with other department support staff, the Officer helps ensure the efficient delivery of departmental programs, services, and day-to-day operations in accordance with organizational policies, funding requirements and priorities.

Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Diploma or degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field and one year of related experience, preferred. A combination of training and experience will be considered.
  • Knowledge of financial tracking and basic accounting
  • Strong organizational and analytical
  • Knowledge of First Nation administration and funding structures is an
