Job summary

City Security in Ajax, Ontario is seeking a vigilant Security Guard to ensure the safety of our premises. You will patrol the property, monitor CCTV, enforce access control, and respond to alarms and incidents.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of security experience, holds a valid Security Guard Licence, and can work flexible hours. This in-person role offers hourly pay between $17.20 and $20.00 and opportunities to contribute to loss-prevention strategies.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in security or related fields is preferred.
• Knowledge of CCTV operation is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of loss prevention techniques and security protocols.
• Excellent observational skills with keen attention to detail.
• Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.
• Good communication skills for reporting and interaction with team members and the public.
• Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours as needed.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular patrols of the property to monitor for suspicious activity or safety hazards
• Monitor surveillance systems, including CCTV, to oversee all areas of the premises
• Enforce security policies and procedures to prevent theft, vandalism, or unauthorized access
• Respond promptly to alarms, incidents, or emergencies, and coordinate with law enforcement if necessary
• Maintain detailed logs of daily activities, incidents, and observations
• Assist visitors and staff with inquiries while ensuring access control protocols are followed
• Conduct loss prevention activities by identifying potential security breaches or theft risks
• Collaborate with management to develop and implement security strategies
