Securiguard Services Ltd. is seeking experienced Security Professionals for casual/on-call roles at Swartz Bay, Victoria, BC. The position offers 8-hour shifts with a pay rate of $25.75 per hour and requires a valid BC Security Worker Licence, AST, OFA 2 and EST certifications.

Qualifications

Job description

Securiguard is currently seeking experienced, dependable, and motivated Security Professionals to join our team in Swartz Bay. This is an excellent opportunity for security professionals who thrive in a dynamic, public-facing environment and are committed to providing a high standard of safety, security, and customer service.

Location: Swartz Bay, Victoria, BC

Pay Rate: $25.75 /hr

Employment Type: Casual / On-Call – 8-hour shifts

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety and security of the site, passengers, employees, and members of the public.
• Maintain a visible and professional security presence to support a safe and secure environment.
• Conduct regular patrols, security checks, lock-up/unlock procedures, and routine inspections.
• Respond to security incidents, disturbances, emergencies, and other operational concerns.
• Utilize appropriate de-escalation and control techniques to gain compliance when necessary and in accordance with training and procedures.
• Engage with the public to provide assistance, direction, and exceptional customer service.
• Operate communication equipment, including two-way radios, and elevate incidents when required.
• Identify, report, and assist in mitigating safety and security hazards.
• Complete clear and accurate incident reports and other required documentation.
• Work effectively both independently and as part of a team in varying weather conditions.

Requirements

• Valid BC Security Worker Licence.
• Valid Advanced Security Training (AST) certification.
• OFA Intermediate certification (OFA 2).
• EST certification is required.
• Excellent communication, customer service, conflict resolution, and de-escalation skills.
• Comfortable using radio communication and other security equipment.
• Ability to write clear and accurate reports on job-related activities and incidents.
• Ability to remain calm and professional when responding to challenging or high-pressure situations.
• Comfortable working independently and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Must be punctual, reliable, and able to consistently report for scheduled shifts.
• Flexible availability to work days, evenings, nights, weekends, and statutory holidays as required.
• As this is a casual/on-call position, candidates must be available to support operational coverage based on scheduling needs.
