Job summary

Securiguard Services Ltd. in Tsawwassen–Delta, BC, is seeking a full-time security professional to join our team at Swartz Bay. The role focuses on safety of ferry terminals and onboard vessels, providing a visible security presence and delivering exceptional customer service.

You will perform access checks, use radios, write reports, and respond to incidents in varying weather conditions. The position requires a BC Security License, AST, OFA 2, and reliability for 8-hour shifts.

Qualifications

• Requires BC Security License and AST certification.
• Requires OFA Intermediate (OFA 2).
• Excellent customer service and communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety and security of ferry terminal and onboard vessels.
• Utilize control techniques to gain compliance when necessary.
• Act as a visible security presence and deterrent to support a safe environment.
• Engage with the public to provide assistance, direction, and exceptional customer service.
• Perform security procedures including unlock/lock-up checks and routine inspections.
• Operate radios and elevate incidents as necessary.
• Identify, report, and help mitigate safety hazards.
• Support passenger safety during coast-to-coast travel.

Job description

Securiguard is currently looking for a Full-Time Security Professional, who is experienced and motivated, to join our team in Swartz Bay.

Location: Tsawwassen - Delta, BC

Pay Rate: $25.75 /hr

Employment Type: Casual / On-Call – 8-hour shifts

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety and security of ferry terminal and onboard vessels
• Utilize appropriate control techniques to gain compliance of a subject when necessary
• Act as a visible security presence and deterrent to support a safe environment
• Engage with the public to provide assistance, direction, and exceptional customer service
• Perform security procedures including unlock/lock-up checks and routine inspections
• Operate communication tools such as radios and elevate incidents as necessary
• Identify, report, and help mitigate safety hazards
• Support passenger safety and satisfaction during coast-to-coast travel

Requirements

• Valid BC Security License and Advanced Security Training (AST)
• OFA Intermediate certified (OFA 2)
• Excellent customer service and communication
• Must be comfortable working 8 hour shifts
• Comfortable with radio communication
• Ability to write reports on job-related activities
• Comfort working independently and in varying weather conditions
• Punctuality and reliability
