Job summary

Paladin Security is seeking Security Guards in Victoria, BC for various sites including mobile and bike patrol, retail, events and airport security. Positions may be full-time or part-time, with shifts mornings, days, nights and weekends.

You will provide exceptional customer service, complete detailed reports, monitor for hazards, and respond to emergencies. A valid security licence and First Aid/CPR/AED are required or asset depending on site.

Qualifications

• Valid security licence
• OFA I or higher is an asset
• Physical fitness to walk for prolonged hours
• Class 5 Driving License is required for Mobile Patrol
• Transportation Security Clearance (TSC) is an asset for Airport/Port work
• Eligible to work in Canada
• High School Diploma/GED

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service
• Write clear and detailed reports including incident, emergency and day-to-day reports
• Watch for irregularities and report hazards; contact emergency responders as required
• Provide first aid and medical response when required
• Perform regular foot patrols to ensure security of personnel, building and equipment
• Utilize two-way radios and computer applications to communicate site activities
• Exercise crowd control and evict trespassers

Job description

We are currently accepting applications for full-time and part-time Security Guards to join our Various Sites: mobile patrol, bike patrol, retail, events, airport security, supportive housing and more in Victoria, BC.

This position requires strong social perceptiveness and customer service skills. Sometimes, it may be physically demanding due to the size of the property and requires applicants to be able to work- Morning, days, nights and/or weekends.

Training Wage: $18.75

Typical Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service
• Write clear and detailed reports including incident, emergency and day to day reports
• Watch for and report irregularities, such as security breaches, facility and safety hazards, and emergency situations and contact emergency responders as required
• Provide first aid and medical response when required to any person(s)
• Perform regular foot patrols to ensure personnel, building and equipment security
• Utilize two way radios and computer applications to communicate site activities
• Exercise crowd control and evict trespassers

Core Competencies

• A strong working knowledge of non-violent crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques
• Strong observational skills
• Ability to make immediate decisions, while maintaining composure in emergency response situations with minimal supervision

Job Requirements
