Securiguard Services Ltd. in Nanaimo, BC is seeking experienced Security Professionals for casual/on-call shifts at Departure Bay & Duke Point. This role requires a dependable, customer-service oriented security professional with a strong safety mindset.

You will maintain a visible security presence, respond to incidents, and provide excellent service in a dynamic, public-facing environment. Strong communication and reporting skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Valid BC Security Worker Licence.
• Advanced Security Training (AST) certification.
• OFA Intermediate (OFA 2) certification.
• EST certification required.
• Excellent communication, customer service, conflict resolution and de-escalation skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety and security of the site, passengers, employees, and members of the public.
• Maintain a visible and professional security presence to support a safe and secure environment.
• Conduct regular patrols, security checks, lock-up/unlock procedures, and routine inspections.
• Respond to security incidents, disturbances, emergencies, and other operational concerns.
• Utilize de-escalation and control techniques to gain compliance when necessary and per training.
• Engage with the public to provide assistance, direction, and exceptional customer service.
• Operate communication equipment, including two-way radios, and escalate incidents when required.
• Identify, report, and mitigate safety and security hazards.
• Complete clear and accurate incident reports and other required documentation.
• Work independently and as part of a team in varying weather conditions.

Securiguard is currently seeking experienced, dependable, and motivated Security Professionals to join our team in Nanaiamo, BC. This is an excellent opportunity for security professionals who thrive in a dynamic, public-facing environment and are committed to providing a high standard of safety, security, and customer service.

Location: Departure Bay & Duke Point, Nanaimo BC

Pay Rate: $25.75 /hr

Employment Type: Casual / On-Call – 8-hour shifts

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety and security of the site, passengers, employees, and members of the public.
• Maintain a visible and professional security presence to support a safe and secure environment.

• Work effectively both independently and as part of a team in varying weather conditions.

Requirements

• Valid BC Security Worker Licence.
• Valid Advanced Security Training (AST) certification.
• OFA Intermediate certification (OFA 2).
• EST certification is required.
• Excellent communication, customer service, conflict resolution, and de-escalation skills.
• Comfortable using radio communication and other security equipment.
• Ability to write clear and accurate reports on job-related activities and incidents.
• Ability to remain calm and professional when responding to challenging or high-pressure situations.
• Comfortable working independently and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Must be punctual, reliable, and able to consistently report for scheduled shifts.
• Flexible availability to work days, evenings, nights, weekends, and statutory holidays as required.
• As this is a casual/on-call position, candidates must be available to support operational coverage based on scheduling needs.
