Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Professional Security Guard in Hamilton, Ontario to protect people and property while delivering exceptional service. This casual shift role requires vigilance, clear reporting, and a polished, professional image at all times.

Responsibilities include access control, patrols, incident response, and accurate record-keeping. Candidates should have a valid Ontario security guard license, First Aid/CPR-C, and ability to work up to 40 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with access control systems and alarms.
• Minimum 1 year of patrolling experience.
• Experience with report writing and note-taking.
• Knowledge of CCTV monitoring systems.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Valid Ontario security guard license.
• Must be eligible to work in Canada up to 40 hours per week.
• Valid First Aid and CPR - Level C.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent work experience.

• Ability to manage conflicts and incidents and to deescalate.
• Patrolling and following post orders.
• Ensure safety procedures are followed for alarms and emergencies.
• Site-specific training and direction from supervisor.
• Demonstrate good judgment in emergencies.
• Meticulous record keeping and reporting.
• Operate security room equipment (computers, CCTV, radio).
• Vehicle patrols.

Job Title: Security Guard

Job Location: Hamilton, ON

Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour

Shifts: Casual: Mon, Tue, Wed, Thur, Fri, Sat, Sun | Various hours | The selected candidate must have a wide availability

Requirements:

• Must be eligible to work in Canada upto 40hours per week.

Specific Duties Performed and Essential Functions :

• Access control for the facility/area
• Present a polished, professional, customer friendly image at all times
• Ability to manage conflicts and incidents and to deescalate
• Patrolling and following protocols as per the post orders, which may include indoor or outdoor patrols, etc.
• Ensure that the facility’s safety and emergency procedures are followed in response to fire alarms and other site Emergencies
• Undertake site specific training, follow direction and guidance from Site Supervisor or Manager
• Demonstrate goodjudgment, common sense and decision-making ability, particularly when required to take charge and direct others in emergencies or other incidents
• Meticulous record keeping, report writing, observation skills excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Operate/monitor security room equipment including but not limited to computers, CCTV cameras, radio, etc.
• Perform in-car/vehicle patrols
