Job summary

Securiguard Services Ltd. is seeking experienced security guards to join our team in Peterborough, Ontario.

You will protect people and property by enforcing regulations, monitoring CCTV, and controlling access while reporting hazards and incidents. The role requires a valid Security Guard License and First Aid/CPR, at least one year of security experience, the ability to work across multiple sites, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Valid Security Guard License and First Aid/CPR.
• At least 1 year of security experience in high-profile environments.
• Knowledge of Trespass to Property Act and Criminal Code of Canada.
• Ability to work at multiple sites across Peterborough.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to prepare daily and incident security reports.
• Conflict resolution and de-escalation skills.
• Able to stand/patrol for up to 12 hours.

Job description

Securiguard Services is looking for experienced security guards to join our team!

At Securiguard, our mission is to make people feel safe. As a security professional, you'll contribute to the safety to our stakeholders by enforcing provincial and municipal regulations, enforcing policies and procedures, monitoring CCTV systems and operating security control room equipment, controlling access to the site, reporting any hazards or security breaches, and responding to incidents.

What You Bring

• Valid Security Guard License and First Aid/CPR
• At least 1 year of security experience in a high-profile, customer-focused environment such as retail, government or healthcare.
• Law Enforcement/Security Educational Pursuits are an asset
• Previous Use of Force training and arrest experience will be considered an asset.
• Ability to work at different sites across Peterborough
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to prepare professional daily and/or incident security reports.
• Knowledge of the Trespass to Property Act (TPA), the Criminal Code of Canada, and 494(c)
• Conflict resolution and de-escalation skills
• Ability to conduct arrests in appropriate and sanctioned situations.
• Military/Police background/Law Enforcement background is an asset.
• Strong observational skills and situational awareness
• Punctuality
• Able to stand/patrol for up to 12 hours.

Pay Rate: $23.00 to $24.00

Progressions are based on performance/evaluation.

Training

Completion of Use of Force Training and Lawful Subject Restraint, and Crisis Management training are requirements for this role., and also require annual re-certification. The training is provided to new employees for this role along with Securiguard University Orientations courses for skill development.
