Job summary

Securitas Canada is seeking highly motivated security personnel for government-site protection. The role requires travel to Toronto, Scarborough, North York, East York, Vaughan, Kitchener, Cambridge and Markham areas, with 28-40 hours per week and on-call status.

Compensation starts at $18.00/hr+ depending on site. The position includes responsibilities such as de-escalation, escorting medical staff, responding to emergencies, access control, gate operations, CCTV monitoring, and patrols.

Qualifications

• Ontario Security License is required.
• First Aid and CPR Certificate required.
• Minimum 1 year of security experience in large-scale operations preferred.
• Thorough understanding of security protocols and emergency response.
• Eligible for Reliability Status security clearance.
• G or G2 driver’s license; own vehicle and willingness to travel to multiple sites.
• Valid driver’s license with 5 years driving experience if required.

Responsibilities

• De-escalate tense situations using verbal communication to reduce risk.
• Escort medical staff including paramedics, police and firefighters when required.
• Respond to medical emergencies and perform CPR/AED if needed.
• Control access by unlocking/locking doors for authorized persons and deny access when needed.
• Operate gates and screen visitors and truck drivers at gatehouse locations.
• Inspect trailers to ensure doors are locked and sealed before departure.
• Assist mobile operations teams with security protocols at strategic locations.
• Notify supervisors of security breaches and follow breach procedures.
• Monitor CCTV for irregularities and coordinate site dispatch and emergency response.
• Perform foot patrols inside and outside the facility.

Position Overview

We are seeking highly motivated security personnel for positions within a physical security environment specializing in the protection of Government sites. You must be able to work 28-40 hours per week and be able to travel to Toronto, Scarborough, North York, East York, Vaughan, Kitchener, Cambridge, and/or Markham area(s).

Responsibilities

• De-escalate tense situations by verbal communication using a variety of techniques designed to reduce risk.
• Escort medical staff including paramedics, police and firefighters when required.
• Respond to medical emergencies and be prepared to perform CPR and AED if needed.
• Unlock and lock doors for access by authorized persons. Denying entry to anyone without authorization.
• Operate gates at gatehouse locations, screening all visitors and truck drivers.
• Inspect trailers ensuring trailer doors are locked and sealed before the truck leaves.
• Assist mobile operations teams with security protocols and enhance security at strategic locations.
• Follow security breach procedures by notifying supervisors or other appropriate personnel when security breaches occur.
• Monitor CCTV footage and cameras for irregularities and perform dispatch duties for the site including emergency response.
• Perform foot patrols inside and outside the facility.

Qualifications

• Valid Ontario Security License
• Valid First Aid and CPR Certificate
• 1 year of security experience minimum within large scale security operations is preferred.
• Thorough understanding of security protocols and procedures including emergency response
• Eligible to obtain and maintain Reliability Status security clearance
• G or G2 class drivers' license with your own vehicle is required to travel to sites
• A valid driver’s license is required. Successful candidates must provide a recent driver’s abstract as a condition of employment with 5 years driving experience.
