Job summary

Paladin Security in St. Thomas, Ontario invites applications for a part-time Security Guard. The role is on-site with a schedule of Monday, Thursday, and Friday from 13:00 to 21:00, offering an hourly pay of CAD 18.93.

You will perform access control, monitor security systems, and patrol the facility to protect personnel and property. On this industrial site, you will handle incident reports, assist visitors and staff, and respond to emergencies within CTPAT guidelines.

Qualifications

• Valid First Aid and CPR Level C Certification.
• College or University education.
• Knowledge of the Trespass to Property Act.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Legal authorization to work in Canada.
• Ability to perform outdoor duties in all weather conditions and stay calm under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Execute access control procedures for inbound and outbound shipments, contractors, and visitors according to CTPAT guidelines.
• Operate weight scales and inspect and log truck traffic outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Conduct foot patrols across production, warehouse, and perimeter areas to safeguard personnel, equipment, and property.
• Monitor site security systems and enforce facility safety and compliance rules.
• Respond calmly and effectively to emergency situations, safety hazards, and incident calls, contacting emergency services as required.
• Complete clear, concise, and legible incident reports and basic logs.
• Deliver professional customer service by offering guidance and assistance to site staff and visitors.

Formet Industries is a high-volume manufacturing facility supporting the automotive sector. As an industrial site adhering to US Homeland Security CTPAT (Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism) standards, security operations play an essential role in maintaining safety, regulatory compliance, and smooth logistics across warehouse and production areas.

What You'll Be Doing

Execute access control procedures for inbound and outbound shipments, contractors, and visitors according to CTPAT guidelines.
