Job summary

OMERS is seeking a Manager, Security and Emergency Services for Square One Shopping Centre in Mississauga. The role leads security operations, emergency management, and safety compliance to protect the property and create a welcoming environment for tenants and guests.

Reporting to the Director, Square One, you will drive security initiatives, manage the ASM and contractors, and coordinate with police, fire, and emergency services while aligning with corporate safety policies.

Qualifications

• The role requires a decisive leader capable of managing major incidents and coaching security teams.
• Strong stakeholder engagement with tenants, public authorities, and internal teams is essential.
• Ability to manage budgets, contracts, and projects on schedule and within budget.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day shopping centre security operations, including management of the Assistant Security Manager (ASM) and oversight of the third-party security contractor.
• Build and maintain relationships with Peel Regional Police (PRP), Emergency Services, and City personnel.
• Coordinate security events with the SQ1 Director and team (e.g., Santa Clause Parade).
• Ensure effective patrols, CCTV monitoring, body-camera review, access control, opening/closing procedures, security briefs, SOPs and scheduling.
