Job summary

OMERS / Oxford Properties Group in Mississauga is seeking a Manager of Energy and Technical Services to oversee maintenance of electrical and mechanical systems at Square One Shopping Centre and outparcels. You will manage costs, supervise a small team, and ensure safety and efficiency across the site.

The role requires CET or Building Environmental Systems certification, 5–10 years in a unionized commercial environment, and strong collaboration with IT and facilities teams.

Qualifications

• CET designation or Building Environmental Systems Certification (or equivalent) is required.
• 5-10 years maintenance/supervisory experience in a unionized commercial setting.
• Experience engaging consultants and suppliers in energy management projects.
• Experience with energy and carbon reduction initiatives is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage operating costs by assisting in annual budgeting and cost control.
• Ensure mechanical/electrical equipment operates at maximum efficiency with standard operating procedures.
• Plan and administer preventative maintenance and staff task assignments.
• Lead a team of 2 supervisors and ~12 unionized staff, providing feedback and training.
• Coordinate IT-related projects with the IT Services Team and troubleshoot site issues.
• Oversee technical capital projects and support corporate energy initiatives.
