Job summary

GardaWorld in Toronto is seeking a Security Dispatcher for an educational facility. You will monitor calls, assess risk, and coordinate responses to incidents at a post-secondary campus in Downtown Toronto.

Ideal candidates are authorized to work in Canada, hold an Ontario Security Guard License, and possess First Aid/CPR Level C. This full-time role follows a 12-hour continental rotation, with uniform provided and ongoing GardaWorld Academy education.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Receive incoming emergency and non-emergency calls from community and non-community members.
• Initiate appropriate response promptly and connect caller to the right person.
• Operate computerized communication devices to relay information to security personnel.
• Remain calm under pressure and multitask during high call volumes.
• Prioritize and dispatch accordingly; document actions accurately.

As a Dispatcher, communication is essential as you will be the person spotting threats before they escalate at a post-secondary educational institute, located at Downtown, Toronto.

Responsibilities for Dispatcher

• Receive incoming emergency and non-emergency calls from community and non-community members
• Initiate the appropriate response promptly including connecting and transferring the caller to the right person
• Operate with various computerized communication devices and associated equipment to receive, assess, and relay information from the public to security personnel in a courteous, professional, and expedient manner
• Remain calm under pressure and be able to multitask during high call volumes from telephone and radio communications
• Be able to prioritize and dispatch accordingly
• Problem-solve on the go utilizing tools and training you’ve acquired

Qualifications for Disptacher

• Be authorized to work in Canada
• Must have valid Ontario Security Guard License

Must have Standard First Aid & CPR Level C certification(WSIB Approved)

Must be able to commmit to Full-Time 12 hour continental rotation schedule (Monday - Sunday including days & nights)

• Must be able to commute to Downtown Toronto with no onsite parking

Working Knowledge of Criminal Code and Trespass to Property Act enforcement

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion and professionalism

Strong documentation and report-writing abilities

Computer proficiency (MS Office, Google Suite)
