Job summary

Fleetwood Metal Industries, a division of Cleveland-Cliffs Tooling and Stamping, seeks a Section Manager Tooling in Tillsonburg, Ontario. This leadership role plans, directs, and optimizes the tooling function to meet production goals in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in tooling and cold stamping, with a Certificate of Qualification in Tool and Die Making, and will lead a 3-shift operation to drive safety, quality and productivity improvements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of technical and mechanical trades experience in a high paced manufacturing field.
• Education: Certificate of Qualification in Tool and Die Making or equivalent related trade
• Minimum 5 years experience in cold stamping including progressive and transfer dies

Responsibilities

• Manage the daily operations of the tool and die shop, including die repair, maintenance, and scheduling of a 3 shift production operation
• Ensure that appropriate optimum technology, equipment, and methodology are employed
• Provide leadership to teams ensuring employees performing tooling activities are trained and qualified to perform them
• Continuously seek out and identify opportunities for improvement in costs, quality, customer service, health and safety and plant operations
• Selecting optimum tool layouts, press size and vendor
• Reviewing final design for final approval prior to manufacture
• Responsible for tooling capability until production release
• Work with die suppliers to improve out of the box reliability for new and replacement tooling
• Review and analyze tooling performance and data to increase productivity, quality and reliability
• Work with engineering and sales at quoting stage to provide the most accurate information, help drive quote acceptance
• Report die shop KPI at the daily production meetings as well as monthly and annual reports and plans
• Communicate any apparent relative information on tooling issues and delays to the production and sales teams

• 10 years experience in cold stamping including progressive and transfer dies

The salary range for this role is $100,000 – $130,000. An employee’s pay within the salary range will be based onnumerousfactors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, geographic location and business or organizational needs.
