Qualifications

  • Valid BC Teaching Certificate.
  • Successful secondary teaching experience.
  • Bachelor's degree with a major or minor in mathematics or science or similar.
  • Ability to plan engaging activities using BC curriculum.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and team collaboration.
  • Excellent classroom management and ability to engage all learners.
  • Ability to differentiate for diverse learners and co-plan for engagement.
  • Experience integrating socio-emotional learning and self-regulated learning.
  • Understanding of Indigenous cultures and First Peoples principles of learning.
  • Experience in outdoor learning with place-conscious, cross-curricular focus.

Responsibilities

  • Teach Grade 8-9 Math and Science, and Grade 10-12 Workplace Math.
  • Teach electives or other courses as assigned.
  • Contribute to School Growth Plan and collaborate with staff and community.
