Job summary

Ecole Pine Grove Middle School in Edson, Alberta, part of Grande Yellowhead Public School Division, is seeking a temporary Secondary Mathematics & Science teacher for grades 6/7. This 1.0 FTE position runs immediately until June 29, 2027 or until the incumbent returns, whichever comes first.

The role requires Alberta Teaching Certification, a Bachelor of Education, and commitment to TQS and literacy across the curriculum.

Qualifications

Experience delivering Math and Science instruction with student-centered approaches.
Knowledge of the Alberta curriculum and Teaching Quality Standard (TQS).
Ability to design and adapt lessons for diverse learners and grade 6/7.
Experience reviewing student progress and reporting outcomes.

Responsibilities

Provide instruction to promote high quality student-centered learning.
Design and preparing lessons based on the curriculum and diverse methodologies.
Facilitate inclusive educational practices to maximize opportunities for all students.
Review and evaluate each student's performance and meet reporting deadlines.
Adhere to provincial legislation, board policy and division procedures.
Develop constructive relationships with parents.
Model commitment to professional development.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal.
