Job summary

Valemount Secondary School (Valemount, BC) is seeking a qualified teacher for a 1.0 FTE (Semester Two Only) assignment covering CLE10; LA; Sc. 9; Gr. 12 elective, under School District No.

57. Applicants with assessment and trauma-informed practice experience are preferred and welcome diversity. Eligible candidates must hold or be eligible for BC Teaching Certification, with knowledge of the redesigned BC curriculum and core competencies.

Qualifications

• Must have or be eligible for membership in the Ministry of Education Teacher Regulation Branch.
• Copy of TRB letter if permanent certification is conditional.
• Knowledge of redesigned curriculum and core competencies.
• Evidence of appropriate teaching qualifications and experience.
• Experience with assessment as learning strategies.
• Experience integrating Indigenous culture and traditions into curriculum.
• Ability to use varied teaching strategies to support all learners.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned subjects (CLE10; LA; Sc. 9; Gr. 12 elective) at Valemount Secondary School.
• Assess and monitor student progress using assessment for learning.
• Collaborate with staff and communities to support student success.
• Integrate technology into the curriculum and classroom.
