We are seeking a seasoned sales manager with strong business acumen, responsible for developing key growth sales strategies, tactics, and action plans to drive business success. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of consistently achieving or exceeding annual sales targets, implementing effective sales strategies, building valuable networks, and maintaining strong customer relationships. Additionally, they will have a deep understanding of customer trends and the ability to leverage this insight to drive business growth and identify new opportunities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Business Development:
- Generate new leads to build a sales pipeline.
- Network and attend events to pursue new business opportunities.
- Research, identify, and contact potential business opportunities.
- Since this is a collaborative environment, the incentive/bonus structure is fully team-based.
- Develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge of the market, identify peaks, valleys, and opportunities to increase sales, and develop strategic action plans to ensure a high level of business throughout the year.
- Research competitor rates annually.
- Create a strategic direction and action plan with the sales team to target internal clients.
- Respond promptly to sales inquiries.
- Schedule on-site property tours and client lunches.
- Develop relationships and accounts (new and existing) by mapping specific business and buying tendencies.
- Use relationship-building skills to contact, meet, and communicate regularly with assigned accounts. Discuss client satisfaction and explore further business opportunities.
- Prepare customized proposals and contracts. Follow up and monitor progress through the sales funnel from prospect to closing. Maintain professional and timely contact with clients.
- Negotiate rates and up-sell to maximize revenue. Maintain brand integrity by balancing rate considerations with deal closure and long-term partnerships.
- Revive dormant accounts to regain client loyalty.
- Record sales activities in Opera and other sales database systems, and follow up on new accounts and leads.
- Attend sales and departmental meetings as required.
- Record expenses incurred on behalf of the company and submit monthly expense reports for approval.
- Work closely with Kingbridge Conference Event Planners and Operations to address client changes or challenges, ensuring seamless communication and service delivery.
- Maintain frequent interaction with clients during their events, including pre- and post-conference meetings.
- Address any service recovery issues promptly.
- Perform any other duties as requested by management.
Qualifications and Skills
- College/university degree or diploma in Sales, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5+ years of sales experience in a full-service hotel, preferably with a dedicated conference center.
- Proficiency in sales account software, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.), internet literacy.
- Ability to write tailored proposals and contracts.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proven success in B2B sales and negotiations.
- Experience with a consultative sales approach.
- Data analysis proficiency.
- Strong decision-making, interpersonal, and time management skills.
- Experience with CRM software such as Salesforce and Opera-Hospitality Database System.
- Effective presentation skills.
- Personal grooming, punctuality, and attendance are essential.
- Creativity in engaging decision-makers and building relationships.
