Job summary

The Salvation Army in Canada is seeking a Kettle Coordinator II for a short-term contract to oversee multiple Christmas Kettle locations within a defined zone, primarily in malls and retail outlets. You will recruit and supervise volunteers, coordinate kettles, ensure secure donations, and report daily to the City/Assistant Coordinator, with emphasis on safety, punctuality, and excellent donor relations.

Qualifications

• Willingness to develop an understanding and support for The Salvation Army in Canada and its implications as related to position responsibilities.
• Comply with OH&S Act and Regulations and the organization’s health and safety policies and procedures.
• Alternative combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Some high school coursework; completion of high school is an asset.
• One year of related experience or customer service experience; money handling experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Attend training and orientation on The Salvation Army and the Christmas Kettle Campaign.
• Provide support in getting kettles to zone locations before volunteer arrival.
• Ensure all kettle donations are delivered to secure location after each shift.
• Communicate daily issues and supply deficiencies to City/Assistant Coordinator.
• Orient and remind volunteers on kettle handling and duties; supervise volunteers during the campaign.
• Recruit volunteers and participate in their recruitment.
• Visit kettle locations during shift changes and communicate with ATL partner for timely transition.
• Ensure timesheets and mileage reports are submitted accurately and on time.
