Job summary

The Salvation Army in Canada is seeking a Christmas Kettle Coordinator for a short-term contract to oversee multiple kettle locations across a geographic zone. You will organize, direct, and supervise kettle campaign workers and ensure adequate staffing for each shift in malls, grocery stores and retail outlets.

The role requires at least one year of customer service experience, strong interpersonal and communication skills, basic office software, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of related experience or working in customer service.
• Money handling experience is an asset.
• Experience in office administration.
• Experience with general office equipment and must have strong skills and experience using word processing (WORD); spread sheet use (EXCEL).
• Valid Driver’s License, personal vehicle required and insurance, current copy of driver’s abstract for review and verification that is satisfactory to The Salvation Army, in its sole discretion, is required.

Responsibilities

• Attend a day of training/orientation on The Salvation Army and the Christmas Kettle Campaign.
• Provide support in getting Kettles to zone locations prior to staff and/or volunteer’s arrival at Campaign onset.
• Ensure all Kettle donations are delivered to secure location at shift completion.
• Communicate daily issues and supply deficiencies to the supervisor.
• Orient and remind staff/volunteers on proper Kettle handling and duties as required.
• Supervise, support and assign staff and/or volunteers throughout the Campaign.
• Visit locations during shift changes and intermittently.
• Record timesheets and mileage reports weekly.
• Remain at the Kettle for the full shift (until relieved), ensuring security of donations.
