Cavendish Farms is seeking a Seasonal Farm Equipment Operator (recovery tractor) for our potato farm in Chapman Settlement, NS. This seasonal role runs mid to late September for about 3–4 weeks with a 7 days/week schedule and 10–14 hour days.

The position requires experience operating tractors, the ability to lift 50 lbs, and willingness to work outdoors in varied weather. You will help with potato grading and other duties as needed by the business, contributing to a collaborative team

Qualifications

Cavendish Farms is looking for Seasonal Farm Equipment Operator (recovery tractor) for our Potato Farm located in Chapman Settlement, NS.

It is a SEASONAL position from mid or end of September for approximately 3-4 weeks

Work Schedule: 7 days a week, 10–14 hours per day

Work Location: Chapman Settlement, NS.

Responsibilities

• A positive attitude.
• Safely operate farm tractors.
• Ability to effectively communicate with management and co-workers.
• Preform daily equipment maintenance; ensuring all components are functioning properly.
• Contribute to the team’s goals and provide feedback on how to better operations.
• General labour duties like potato grading, disinfecting equipment, cleaning buildings/yard, etc. when needed.
• Please note this role is a blend of equipment operation duties and all the other duties depending on the business needs.

Qualifications

• Experience operating tractors or other heavy farm equipment.
• Ability to lift 50lbs.
• Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced, team environment.
• Availability to work extended hours, evenings, and weekends.
• Willingness to work outdoors in mixed weather conditions.
