Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Follow safety requirements and GMPs, JHAs, CCPs.
• Inspect potatoes for rocks and debris, remove foreign material.
• Sort and rack potatoes and support storage flow.
• Lift up to 50 lbs as required and handle materials safely.
• Clean storage spaces and assist in equipment maintenance.
• Support ventilation setup and direct farm trucks during unloading.
• Assist with troubleshooting and minor adjustments to facilities.
• Collect potato samples and record quality data.
• Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather and hours.
• Work long hours and weekends during peak harvest.

About The Role.

Valley Farms is currently looking for General Labourers to join the team in Grand Falls for the harvest season. This temporary, full-time role supports the safe and timely receiving and storage of potatoes in a fast-paced team environment.

What You’ll Be Doing.

• Follow all safety requirements, Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and Critical Control Points (CCPs).
• Inspect potatoes entering storage and remove rocks, debris, and other foreign material from incoming loads.
• Sort and rack potatoes and support the timely receiving and storage process.
• Handle materials and safely lift up to 50 lbs as required.
• Clean and prepare potato storage buildings, equipment areas, and work areas.
• Place culverts in potato storages for ventilation and assist in directing farm trucks during unloading.
• Assist with light maintenance, troubleshooting, and adjustment of equipment and storage facilities.
• Collect potato samples and record quality information as required.
• Work indoors and outdoors, including in changing weather conditions, and complete additional duties as assigned.
• Work varying hours, including long days and weekends, based on weather and harvest requirements.

Compensation Package:

Starting at $21.49 CAD hourly.
