Job summary

Vanco Farms Ltd. in Prince Edward Island invites a hardworking individual to join as Farm Worker/ Farm Equipment & Vehicle Mechanic.

The role blends field duties during planting/harvest with maintenance in our shop during quieter months, supporting equipment and vehicle readiness for the next season. Expect to operate tractors and farm equipment, perform inspections, diagnose issues, and keep workshop standards high.

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude and experience repairing equipment and vehicles.
• Experience operating agricultural equipment is an asset.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues independently.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding work.
• Valid driver’s license (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Spring & Fall Field Season: Operate tractors and a variety of farm equipment.
• Assist with planting, cultivating, harvesting, and other field operations.
• Perform equipment inspections and daily maintenance.
• Work safely while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Assist with other farm duties as required.
• Off-Season Shop Work: Diagnose and repair tractors, farm machinery, trailers, and passenger vehicles.
• Complete preventative maintenance and servicing.
• Replace worn or damaged parts.
• Prepare equipment for the upcoming growing season.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workshop.

What We’re Looking For

Are you someone who enjoys working outdoors, operating equipment, and solving mechanical problems? We’re looking for a hardworking, dependable individual to join our team in a unique year-round role that combines seasonal field work with equipment and vehicle maintenance and repair.

No two days are the same! During our busy planting and harvest seasons, you’ll be out in the fields helping grow our crops. During the quieter months, you’ll work in our shop maintaining, repairing, and preparing our equipment and vehicles for the next season.
