Job summary

Silent-Aire Limited Partnership, a Johnson Controls subsidiary, seeks a Sealer/Prepper for our Edmonton-area facilities (Nisku, Sherwood Park, or Edmonton). The role involves sealing, masking, sanding, and preparing equipment for painting within a safety-conscious factory setting.

Responsibilities include masking, filling, sanding, color matching, and assisting with materials and supplies while adhering to safety policies.

Qualifications

  • College/vocational or technical training in a related field is an asset.
  • Previous experience with sheet metal is an asset.
  • Previous autobody prep experience is an asset.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Able to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints is an asset.
  • Must be able to carry and move equipment and/or supplies in excess of 25 pounds.
  • Must be able to distinguish colours.

Responsibilities

  • Operate sealing equipment or use filler to fill holes, dents, and seams.
  • File, grind, and sand repaired body surfaces using hand and power tools.
  • Mask and tape surfaces in preparation for painting.
  • Mix, blend, and match paint colors.
  • Apply primers and repaint surfaces using brush or spray guns.
  • Monitor parts usage and report on any materials issues.
  • Assist in ordering replacement equipment, parts and supplies.
  • Perform in a team environment with minimal supervision.
  • Comply with Silent-Aire safety program standards and Alberta OH&S Act, Regulations, and Code.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Overview

Silent-Aire Limited Partnership is a wholly owned subsidiary of Johnson Controls. Silent-Aire is a technology driven company that designs, engineers and manufactures hyperscale cooling and modular data center solutions.

This role may be based at our facilities in Nisku, Sherwood Park, or Edmonton. Candidates must have reliable transportation to commute to and from the work location.

Available Shift Options Include
  • Rotating Day Shift: 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM, including weekends
  • Weekday Night Shift: Monday through Thursday, 6:00 PM to 5:30 AM
  • Weekend Night Shift: Friday through Sunday, 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM

The primary role of the Sealer/Prepper is to prepare equipment for painting through sealing, masking, sanding and other applications.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Operate sealing equipment or use filler to fill holes, dents, and seams.

  • Performs all duties in accordance with Silent-Aire Limited Partnership safety program standards and Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulations, and Code.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Completion of college/vocational or technical training in a related field is an asset.
  • Previous experience working with sheet metal is an asset.
  • Previous autobody prep experience is an asset.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
  • The ability to read and interpret blueprints is an asset.
  • Must be able to carry and move equipment and/or supplies in excess of 25 pounds.
  • Must be able to distinguish colours.
Working Conditions
  • Commercial/Industrial environment.
  • Manual dexterity required to use necessary tools.
  • Exercise caution, as the environment presents many naturally occurring hazards.
  • Always adhere to safety policies (wear protective equipment).
  • Long periods of standing.
  • Overtime as required.
