Job summary

Silent-Aire Limited Partnership, located at our facility in Nisku, seeks an experienced industrial painter to operate painting equipment, apply protective coatings and read blueprints. The role requires ability to handle up to 25+ lbs and work on night shifts (Mon-Thu or Fri-Sun weekends).

Candidate should have sheet metal painting experience, SPAY GUN setup ability, WHMIS certification, and strong communication in English to coordinate with team and supervisors.

Qualifications

• Completion of college/vocational or technical training in a related field is an asset.
• Experience working as an industrial painter in a manufacturing setting.
• Previous experience painting sheet metal is required.
• Experience setting up and using a spray gun is required.
• WHMIS Certification.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Good spoken English and ability to communicate with teammates and supervisors.
• Must be able to carry and move equipment and/or supplies in excess of 25 pounds.
• Must be able to distinguish colors.

Responsibilities

• Tend and operate equipment used to spray or coat products and apply protective or decorative coats.

• Inspect surfaces for contamination prior to application of paint.
• Apply high performance protective coatings to metal surfaces, fabricated parts, assemblies, and structures.

• Paint using spray, brush, and roll.
• Selecting and mixing the appropriate paint.
• Clean equipment and perform routine maintenance when necessary.
• Perform all duties in accordance with safety program standards and Alberta OH&S Act, Regulations, and Code.

Overview

Silent-Aire Limited Partnership is a wholly owned subsidiary of Johnson Controls. Silent-Aire is a technology driven company that designs, engineers and manufactures hyperscale cooling and modular data center solutions. This role is located at our facility in Nisku and you must have a reliable transportation to commute. This role will be offered on one of two available night shifts: a Monday–Thursday night shift or a Friday–Sunday weekend night shift.

Roles & Responsibilities

Working Conditions

Commercial/Industrial environment. Exercise caution, as the environment presents many naturally occurring hazards. Always adhere to safety policies (wear protective equipment). Long periods of standing. Overtime as required.
