Job summary

LOC Software, a retail technology company, seeks a motivated Junior Developer to join the Payment team. You will help support, maintain, and enhance transaction processing systems, building on our proprietary scripting environment and core payment functionality.

You will work with experienced engineers to debug code, optimize database queries, and ensure robust integration with POS hardware and payment processors. A strong foundation in programming and a willingness to learn is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent.
• 2 to 5 years of software development experience.
• Proficiency in programming and scripting.
• Experience with payment industry or POS/middleware integration.

Responsibilities

• Development & Maintenance: Analyze, maintain, and debug existing code within the payment architecture.
• Databases: Write and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions to secure transactions.
• Systems Integration: Ensure seamless communication (JSON/XML) between POS hardware, middleware, and payment processors.
• Analysis & Learning: Troubleshoot transaction issues and master our proprietary framework alongside senior developers.

Job summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Developer to join our Payment team. In this role, you will work closely with experienced software engineers to support, maintain, and enhance our transaction processing systems. Because much of our core functionality relies on our proprietary scripting environment, we value strong programming fundamentals, logical problem-solving skills, and a willingness to learn over mastery of any single language.

Your main Challenges

• Development & Maintenance: Analyze, maintain, and debug existing code within the payment architecture.
