Job summary

LOC Software in Laval, QC, is seeking a motivated Junior Developer to join our Payment team. You will support, maintain, and enhance transaction processing systems, working with senior engineers to learn our proprietary scripting environment and strengthen core programming fundamentals.

The role emphasizes teamwork, debugging, and learning across the payment architecture, with hybrid/remote options and career growth within a 30-year-old company that serves retail, grocery, pharmacy and fuel

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent.
• +5 years of experience in software development.
• Excellent proficiency in programming and scripting (JavaScript).
• Solid understanding of communication protocols (HTTP, TCP/IP, REST, WebSockets).
• Experience in the payment industry or POS/middleware hardware integration.

Responsibilities

• Development & Maintenance: Analyze, maintain, and debug existing code within the payment architecture.
• Databases: Write and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions to secure transactions.
• Systems Integration: Ensure seamless communication (JSON/XML) between POS hardware, middleware, and payment processors.
• Analysis & Learning: Troubleshoot transaction issues and master our proprietary framework alongside senior developers.
