Job summary

Lancesoft in Montreal is seeking a Senior Java Developer to join our Payments Technology team. Day-one onboarding on-site with a 3x/week presence, focused on delivering a strategic initiative to enable new payments and funding capabilities using a modern Java stack.

The ideal candidate has 5–10 years of Core Java development, strong SQL skills, and hands-on experience with CI/CD (GitHub Actions), Agile/Scrum, Kafka, Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud-driven DevOps (Azure).

Job Title: Senior Java Developer Location: Montreal (day 1 onboarding / in-office presence required 3x/week)

The Payments and Cash Management Technology department partners with Cash Management Operations, Corporate Treasury and lines of business groups across the globe to provide best in class technology solutions that facilitate the movement of billions of dollars daily.

As a Software Developer within Payments Technology, you will be focusing on delivery of an innovative, highly visible strategic initiative to enable new payments and funding capabilities.

Payments Technology has a varied technical stack - core Java Spring Boot for the server-side, Angular for the Web UI, and DB2 SQL and SQL Server for the database and we expect the developer to have solid understanding of these technologies. We implement a cloud first strategy, therefore experience with Cloud based software development and DevOps in Azure would be beneficial. We also use a range of industry leading technologies such as Kafka, Kubernetes, and Docker. Knowledge of these technologies is not necessary - but an enthusiasm and desire to learn new technology and deploy it to solve business problems is a must.

The candidate should be a highly motivated team player who possess a successful track record of delivery within Agile teams, software engineering and creative logical problem solving.

The ideal candidate should have:

• A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in Core Java application development.
• Strong development skills with databases and SQL
• Good understanding of CI/CD tooling like GitHub Actions
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work closely with business stakeholders, and global team members.
• Practical experience working within an Agile/Scrum based global environment
• A passion for technology and a desire to understand the latest evolutions in software and engineering practices.
• A keen interest in learning the business and applying technology to solve business challenges
• BDD driven development using frameworks such as Cucumber

Desired skills:

• Preferably familiar with financial markets and asset classes, particularly Payments.
• Experience with some of the following technologies: Kafka, MQ, Angular, Docker, Apache Camel, Spring Boot, REST APIs, OAuth, OTEL Observability tooling, PKI, Kubernetes, Azure Cloud DevOps, agentic programming.
• Familiarity with the SWIFT network
